Knowledge and Culture Dissemination - Budapest Excursion 1.
August 14-16, 2017
Transcarpathia Group

A smaller part of the Transcarpathia Talent Project – seven students and one teacher – got the privilege to participate in a three-day knowledge and culture dissemination excursion in Budapest organized by one of the teachers and the volunteers of Foundation.
Before the trip, the students participated in the Foundation’s Summer Camp where they studied basic knowledge on finance and economics in Balatonföldvár between July 10-19, 2017. The subjects of the Summer Camp and the main event of this Excursion, the visit at the OTP’s Money History Collection, completed each other very well. The students were really interested in the guide’s presentation and read the Exhibition’s materials and publications. The Excursion’s aim was, beside reviewing our historical legacy, to broaden the students’ knowledge.
Of course, the group visited not only the Exhibition, but also the monuments and the most beautiful places of Budapest. The city tour involved a walk on Chain Bridge where the students remembered of István Széchenyi and the facts and circumstances of building Chain Bridge as well as the contemporary historical events.
Visiting Buda Castle and Vajdahunyad Castle which illustrate our rich historical and cultural heritage very well were fantastic experiences for everybody. It was the first time for the students to visit these places, furthermore the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, Margaret Island where the group rested at the musical fountain. The group climbed to the Citadel with enthusiasm where Budapest’s unique view fascinated everybody. The students with a lot of extraordinary experiences and knowledge returned home to Transcarpathia.
