Tiszaroff Microregion Group

The group of Financial Awareness Project got the privilege to participate in a one-day knowledge and culture dissemination excursion in Budapest organized by their teacher and one of the volunteers of Foundation.
The main event of the Budapest Excursion, the visit at the OTP’s Money History Collection completed their monthly trainings well. The students from Tiszaroff and Tiszabő were really interested in the old-time bank items, like office machines and equipment, money boxes, coins and plaques, but the most interesting objects were the letters from the time of the Great War, the First World War. The guide’s presentation grabbed their full attention and he was happy to answer all of the students’ questions. The guide explained such unique events of the history, like “war loan” or how the banks of the early 20th century operated and why the money inflated so much that the people swept banknotes on the streets. The visit made a huge impact on the group and it was the main discussion topic even at the next training. The students asked further questions from their teacher and discussed on what they had seen and read at the Collection.
Of course, after the visit at the Collection, the group went to a city tour, walked on Chain Bridge, climbed to the Castle Hill where the beautiful panorama of Budapest opened up for them. The topics of city tour were the monuments of Budapest, their architects and the eras when these monuments were built. For most of them, it was the first time to visit the capital and learn about its architectural, historical and cultural heritage. The group with peerless experiences went home. Albeit the students were really tired, but they promised to study hard and broaden their knowledge. It was an invaluable and useful excursion which was verified by the students’ spirit and enthusiastic.
