Tiszaroff Microregion Talent Project

Support Period: October 1, 2015 – September 30, 2016

Eight students participated in this Project from the Tiszaroff Microregion’s three settlements, Tiszabő, Tiszagyenda and Tiszaroff. The Project provided professional trainings and financial support for the students and their family, in total 40 people.

The financial support contained the following items for each of them: money stipend 50,000 HuF in every month, a one-time firewood support worth 125,000 HuF, and quarterly food package worth 25,000 HuF.

In this support period, three specialists, two pedagogues and one psychologist, worked with the students to achieve the goals of Project.

The Project’s goal is to create and sustain an atmosphere wherein the students, coming from deep poverty, can unfold and improve their personality traits which can help them to pursuit their happiness and achieve their life-goals. In this process, the specialists helped the students to learn those skills and abilities which can provide good opportunities to form and to maintain a sustainable personal development.

In order to achieve these goals, a many-sided educational and pedagogical method was necessary which focused especially on the students’ emotional and social development. From methodological aspect, individual, personalized and group processes were applied. The specialists wanted to keep the students’ motivation and interest in order to find the most available and suitable career paths for them.

The trainings were organized in every month in eight hours long blocks on a weekend day.

The specialists evaluated the first year in their report as the Project became more successful than they had expected based on the facts that students improved or at least maintained their results and two of them were accepted to high school.

Regarding the experiences of individual and group work, the specialists agreed without any hesitation that based on the feedback from the students and families, the Project’s first year was successful and a unique opportunity for the students and their families.
